My mom passed away this November 5th after 5 years of battling with cancer. While I am deeply grieved to lose my mom, I am most grateful that I was able to take care of her at home to the last day and that she did not suffer greatly in the hospital for weeks as some people do. She passed suddenly spending only 12 hours in hospital. I will always be grateful that her suffering was short.

I am first and foremost thankful for my two amazing boys (the most amazing in the WHOLE UNIVERSE, to me) and the love I am basking in every day; for this beautiful planet, which we should take better care of; and for finding wirework - my passion and joy on the road to self-discovery (to say I'm thankful for you, Nicole, might be a little too corny) :)

2017 has been difficult since I broke my wrist early in the year, and it's been a struggle all through the last 9 1/2 months. I've finally had surgery last week to fix my wrist.

I had to endure that, too. Traumatic fracture of my dominant hand wrist during a car accident, due to force of impact (I was driving). Thank goodness I was able to avoid directly hitting the driver that pulled out in front of me and spared my daughter from injury. It has been a long, long road (major reconstructive surgery, etc...). Be very committed to your physical therapy. That is key to regaining as much as possible to full function of your wrist. I wish you well and hope that you have as quick a recovery as possible. Keep your chin up!

Everytime I can give the energy of joy and happiness to the world from my kindness is a blessing for all. I just got done filming a movie with some wonderful people.(Which I can't believe that just happened. So grateful for that!) I gave necklaces to all the women. One of them came up to me and said, "I wore that necklace in my scene today!" My heart expanded a thousand fold!! Another lady took of her shiny diamond necklace and wore the one I gave her the rest of the time. It's the little things in my life I am grateful for. So grateful you are apart of that! Thank you!!💜

It took a minute to write this response. Not because I am 'not' thankful, but because I truly consider myself lucky. There is so much hurt in the world in so many different facets that when you step back and truly look at what one has, I'm one of the lucky ones. I have family. I've not lost my mom or dad. I've not lost any children, unlike a good friend who lost all of her children (3) in a car accident. My family is healthy, for the most part, unlike those who suffer from tragic diseases. We don't suffer (well unless there is a rock I can't reach). But to truly to list all the things I'm thankful for, would really just be a whole long list. And I'm not just thankful during a holiday season, but think myself thankful and lucky every single day for that which I do have.

He has taken care of me and the trials I have had. He never once left my side for the 74 days I was in the hospital. He has taken me without complaint to any doctor's appoinments and done all of the shoppin g and cleaning. To this day he freqently says "i LOVE YOU". If it weren't for this wonderful man I would be in deep depression and without any comfort. I am very thankful for my husband, Joe.

I am thankful for Carolyn Hax, an advice columnist I discovered and from whom I gather much needed strength. As always, I am thankful for my father who taught me to be calm under pressure. I am thankful for my mother who refused to teach me anything, claiming I already knew how to read/sew/cook/clean/draw/build, then turned me loose to prove it. I'm so thankful that I was able to stay in my home. My husband passed on June 23, 2017 and when he was gone, so was 1/2 my income. I wasn't sure that I'd be able to pay all the bills on my own, but I can! Now I won't have to lose my home. We bought it in 1990 and I was so scared to think that I might lose it. It's not easy, but I've cut enough corners to be safe. That's one of the things that I'm thankful for.

Well Nicole, I don't think there's enough room to write everything I'm grateful for LOL! But I must say that I think that I am extremely lucky and blessed. This year has taught me a lot of lessons even though I may have the skinned knees to show for it I think I'm finally getting a grasp on this life thing! So I'm grateful that I am learning to live more spherically and for all the beautiful teachers that come into my life-teachers like you who inspire not only with your jewellery but with your blog - where you share so much of yourself in many ways! So I'm grateful for that as well, truly grateful! And for all my peeps who keep me sane when the wind comes crashing on my door!

I got a new hip this year and that ended the last three years of pain and immobility that hampered my life. I feel whole and flexible and back to a healthy lifestyle again. You don’t appreciate your life until you can’t do simple things without major pain. I can finally drive my little car that has spent the last 3 years in the driveway never moving...things are good!

Devo anche ringraziare te e le bravissime artiste che come te infondono ispirazione a piene mani a tante persone, fra le quali me stessa. Sunday family day is my best day of the week. My grandkids are the light of my life and they too have pitched in and decided that l can come live with them and that they are going to take care of me! My cousin was diagnosed with grade 3 cervical cancer 5 years ago, she went through an extreme treatment and went into remission but not without it seriously damaging her body and health. I am thankful for everyday that she is with us, I could not imagine her not being a part of my life. My cousin loves to see what I make or what I am working on, she always shows up to any craft show that I am at even on the bad days. On the days my cousin struggles to breathe or to get out of bed, I talk to her about future shows or designs, anything to put her mind somewhere else. Your cross pendant tutorial I purchased and made for her, she wears that cross everyday. I am blessed that she is still with us and so thankful that my passion has become her passion, she loves your designs Nicole and is always looking at your website, so I thank you for the beautiful pieces that you create and I am thankful that you create the tutorials that enable others like me to recreate them and learn your style of design, so that we can then pass on those beautiful pieces to others.

I am very thankful for my families health as we've been thru some health concerns this year. I'm thankful that we live in the United States and have access to good and wholesome food products and clean water also that we have shelter over our heads as many do not. I also am grateful that we have the ability to have good healthcare. Plenty of food to eat and the freedom to decide what we want to do and no be told what we have to. Blessed to be breathing when others may be taking their last breathe. Able to see and hear sights and sounds while some may not. Thank you

I am very thankful, because I made it though the hardest time, my son's Father walked out on us, and 25,000 was stolen from from my bank account, who wouldn't give the money back. For three months I went with out food, so my son would have something to eat. If it was not for my son, I would have gave up on everything. Now I am blessed to come out of this a much happier person. I am of course thankful for my supportive family. Without them, I wouldn't think it possible for me to make a living off of my love for creativity and art. My two beautiful healthy boys that continue to surprise me every day with their own unique ways of thinking. Im so thankful for my husband of 14 years, who is still my best friend and is the only person who truly understands my cooky, abstract mind even when I don't understand it myself. We feel content just being around one another and we are always making one another laugh. In a world where it's so rare to see people stay together I thank my lucky stars every day that we have each other. I'm thankful to my grandparents, for always keeping a roof over our heads when times were tough and continues to encourage me to keep making jewelry even if it isn't a steady source of income yet, because they believe in me. Most of all, I am thankful that no matter how hard things get, I can always find a creative outlet within the chaos of day to day life that always seems to help me slow down, see the beauty in everything, and just dig deep down inside myself and come up with something that I can be proud of, something that, in an abstract way, is very much a part of me. Whether it be a piece of jewelry, a painting, pottery, sketch, (or anything else I can get my hands on really), I'm expelling this creative force from myself and putting it out into the world for all to see, and the fact that I am actually able to do that is something I feel very thankful for indeed.

I am thankful for my family and friends, our business, our house, the fact that we get to invite people over to share fun and good food. I am thankful that I can see, hear, taste, breathe, feel, move and create. I am thankful for my kitties and the birds I feed… along with the occasional raccoon, squirrels and who knows what else. I am thankful that my family and friends are safe and warm and happy and have plenty to eat. I am thankful that I am lucky enough to have a partner that accepts me as I am….and that’s a LOT, who is a true partner and friend and the love of my life. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn from a skilled wire artisan, who freely shares her work and ideas with everyone, so they too can feel the joy of creating something beautiful. And I am thankful for this contest, not just for the opportunity to possibly win a stunning necklace (and that would be so awesome!), but because it forced a pause and a reflection on all the things that generally are taken for granted, yet are the most important. Thank you, I am so grateful!

I am thankful for my husband of 20 years, my best friend and the love of my life. I am thankful that I can find beauty in this hard life. I am thankful for each new day and the promise it brings. This year I had a lot of personal losses, my sister passed away, then my best friend passed away. After that I had another really close friend die. With all this loss I realize just how precious and short life really is. I am so very thankful for those I still have in my life. I try to spend as much time as possible each day with those I love. The memories of those lost are gifts that God has given me, for those I will be forever thankful.

I am so thankful to be enjoying these days with my husband of 45 years and that I have all three of my children living close enough to see them frequently. I am so blessed to be able to babysit all my grandchildren and know that they are with loved ones and not strangers. I am loving the life I now have because of the actions of my past years. Work hard, be truthful, look for good in all, love and commit to family with all my heart and after all of that just sit back and reap the rewards.

I'm thankful for every last moment I have to spend with my grandma. I took care of Grandpa through his passing and have been taking care of Grandma as well. She has been having mini strokes lately, has Alzheimer's, and is dying of cancer. She was doing fairly well, considering, up until 2 weeks ago when she stopped eating for the most part. Tonight I had to call in help at the house as she can no longer stand. I don't know if she'll make it until Christmas Day, but we thought she was going to pass quite awhile ago. I'm just so glad for the extra time with her.

Now I have become what some tribes call an Elder, an Old One. I am grateful for that time, difficult though much of it was. I am grateful to see, thought it has become more challenging. My body has had 23 surgeries; I greatly respect it. I am able to walk, am very glad for this, although this too requires great effort and is painful. I can feel compassion for humans and non-humans; that is fortunate. All that seems so fleeting, the curve of my son's baby butt check, the peaking of a rose, kindnesses, sunset, a lone bird warbling. I think, when I leave a room, will others feel uplifted; I am grateful to see beyond myself. I feel that I know less and less, which is a good thing. One answer I have been given and for which I am grateful, is, Be Kind. Not much seems to matter in terms of "what is true"; Be Kind is a guiding rock. I hope everyone has reason for gratitude.

As I was searching for the wonderful selection of free tutorials that you have so generously given this month, I realized just how quickly this year has passed and how much I have missed. I started off 2017 with high hopes and an excited anticipation; it was going to be a good year! Everything changed when my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. I am thankful for my husband being a pillar of strength and wisdom and having the foresight to say "Jeannine, leave your job and help your Dad through his chemo treatment. Don't have any regrets if the treatment doesn't work, spend that time with your Dad." I am thankful for the time I got to spend with my Dad before he passed away in May and for the times he would pat my hand while I was sitting next to him and he'd call me his angel. I am thankful for the love and support of my family as I grieve his loss and I am thankful that the days I am utterly paralyzed by grief are becoming fewer and farther apart. I am thankful for outlets such as bead work, wire work and baking, which in those less paralytic times have been my therapy and saving grace. I am thankful for artist such as yourself, who are willing to share their knowledge through tutorials and videos so that I can expand my skills and find my own voice. I am thankful for the forum and community you have established and all of the people in that community which share their tips, frustrations, helpful hints and beautiful art. So many times in the past year I have gone to the page and found great comfort seeing the beautiful work so many people are able to accomplish, comfort in knowing I am not the only person alive that deals with "stuck" times and lack of creativity, and comfort in being able to make suggestions to people when they are having difficulty with something that I have dealt with myself. Thank you Nicole! Thank you for your generosity of community, sharing your art, your wisdom, your knowledge and often times laying bare your soul. Lastly, I am thankful this year is almost over and I am looking forward to 2018. It's going to be a good year!!

I am thankful for my family not giving up on me after i was told i would probably never walk again. I had many seizures that fried my brain stem and caused me to have a stroke at the age of 42. I was left paralyzed and told i was lucky to be alive. I had to learn how to walk talk feed bath everything all over again. My family pushed me and would not let me give up. it took me 13 Years but on Christmas morning 3 years ago I took my first step. I am currently walking with the help of a walker and I am so grateful to be out of that wheel chair every day i am blessed to still be here.

There are so many reasons to be "thankful." For me, it begins with a simple concept----having the capacity to recognize those things/concepts that I am thankful for, instead of going through life and not truly "seeing," nor "feeling." Even though I deal with several health issues, my eyes are open for seeing and my heart is open for feeling. I could not make it through life without the support of the Divine, my family and friends. I am thankful for people who care and and are passionate about their lives and hobbies. These are the people who make the world a better place, the people who help others, the people who want others to succeed. Take yourself, for example, writing his blog and offering contests. Your passion for creating jewelry has helped so many of us to develop our passion. Thankful!!!

Reading through all the comments I am amazed at what everyone has gone through. I can certainly empathize with each and everyone. We all have chronic illness, losses and other tests of our personal strength and fortitude to deal with on a daily basis, unfortunately no one is immune to it.

My husband has been my rock. Every new blow from my disability he's absorbed and dealt with without a wobble. He's amazing. This is not how I pictured our "older" years being. I pictured travel, playing with dogs, having fun together, and except for the really active part of that he doesn't see that picture changing. I love looking thru his eyes.

I am thankful for not living in a strife-ravaged country, for having somewhere warm to sleep and food to eat. While being in constant pain and having disability and mobility issues, I am thankful for having a positive personal outlook, even in darker times. I am thankful for my wonderful partner, who endlessly has the strength and love to be with me. Lastly, I am thankful for being part of Nicole's Groups and following her on Instagram and Pinterest, without which, none of my new found art (goof or bad!) would have been possible.

Most thankful for my family, and for my health, to be able to do the things that I like to do, to have time to create, time to walk on the beach. These things make up my life. I am very fortunate that I live close to my family. And my friends, I have some really awesome and supportive friends, I am truly blessed.

I am thankful that my son is alive and pretty much healed from the horrific motorcycle accident last year. He told me when he awoke from his coma and first brain surgery that he had been following his dad but his dad told him he could not go with him now because he had more to do with his life. His dad was killed three years ago by a drunk driver.

My son, Bruce, was a crew member aboard the USS Fitzgerald when it was struck by the ACX Crystal. He and we as a family have endured so much this year..especially from armchair captains and media misrepresentations (not to forget those who hate the military that bemoaned that more of the crew didn't die or that the Fitz failed to sink). The bond I share with my son has strengthened beyond measure, as we both have endured accidents that have left us scarred in so many ways. I am thankful that my son survived. May those who did not always rest in peace.

I am so thankful for so many people and things it is hard to list them all. I'm thankful for my wonderful hubby for loving me despite my moods and crazy ideas. My sons for being level headed and responsible most of the time, not like so many kids today. My customers for their continued support. My talent to make things so I am able to make most everything for my youngest son's wedding (one of his less level headed things) and throw a wedding together in one month at way less cost.

I'm am thankful for how this year is ending. After losing everything, a couple moves, spinal surgery and then almost being homeless when landlord decided to sell my rental, things got even crazier. But then I was able to buy the house I was renting (just closed last week) and now no worries of being homeless. During the last move I had almost half of my inventory stolen or broken, but now I'm replenishing my supplies and starting to create again. I even decorated for Christmas, the first time in 7 years. So as rough as things have been I'm thankful for making it through with a smile on my face and gratitude in my heart.

I am thankful to have my mother still here for one more Christmas and for my husband who has encouraged me to spend as much time as I need to be with mom. She is in a nursing home 3 hrs. Away from me. I travel to see her every two weeks and sleep in the chair next to her bed for 3-4 days. I don’t know what she understands or if I’m even there, but I know. She can’t walk or talk and dementia has taken my moms reality. So many holidays have come and gone while I slept next to her. I spent each of those holidays with her and away from my home. My husband is my rock. I love you dear. Thank you Nicole.

While I have so many things to choose from, I am so very thankful for God's gift to me of creativity. Through this gift I am able to create various works that I in turn delight in gifting to others. While my ultimate goal is to become proficient enough with my jewelry making skills to be considered a serious artist, for now I am content to sharpen this talent creating gifts for others. I truly believe our talents are a gift from God and it is our responsibility to use these gifts to benefit not only ourselves, but others. I am also very thankful for artists such as yourself who share their own talents and skills and those around me who support and encourage my efforts. I have learned so much through your gifts to us. Thank you! Merry Christmas and wishes for a most Happy and Creative New Year to you!

When I was little every Sunday we had dinner w the four sisters ( mom’s, aunts), my baby brother (who now has a beautiful baby and wife of his own)granny and Pat, and all seven cousins would come, in addition to a yearly beach trip with all of those people and as a result we were closer as cousins at one point than many siblings. I’m grateful for that experience and hope we can pass it on to all of the little ones my cousins and siblings are having!

I’m grateful that you share your tutorials with the world, so we can attempt to bring some of that wire- wrapped beauty into our lives. I am also grateful that this giveaway has purple stones! Would look amazing on me as I wander around our lavender farm in Michigan :)

My son passed away almost 3 years ago from cancer. He left behind some beach glass. In the process of learning how to wrap that glass, I found some peace knowing he touched each and every piece. It also lead me to your site and a whole new world of art. Thank You Hanna!

I am thankful I’m still alive - and that both the Earth and those living on it who have chosen to take the opportunity to learn, understand and act in harmony with it, will soon be restored and healed, and death, disease and pain will be forgotten. His Will will be done on Earth, and boy, do we need that.....

My CAT nudges me at night to get under the covers, curls up against me and falls asleep purring with her sweet head on my arm. It gives me such great comfort after loss. I am blessed to have jewelry design as a passion, to work with such beautiful objects. I am thankful.

I am grateful because after almost 4 years I return to smile and believe again that it is possible, I can say it was a period without a flashlight, dark pesto! thank you because I will meet my family that I have not seen for almost a year. I am grateful because my creative drive does not stop growing. I am grateful because the world really is waiting to help you, you have to stretch your hand!

I am thankful for my life. Everyday I wake and thank God for giving me a new day -- another day to be loving, another day to be courteous, another day to be kind, another day to show compassion, another day to be helpful, another day to set an example, another day to give of myself and my time to benefit some else, another day to count my blessings no matter how small, another day to reflect on the lessons I've learn. Life is such a precious gift and I am thankful for every opportunity to enjoy the moments.

I’m thankful for the support from my inner circle of friends and family. I was recently diagnosed with ME/CFS, an illness that my mother also has, and it has a big impact on how much and what I can do. Without my closest friends my life would not be half as fulfilling or exciting as it is, even amongst the fatigue and pain

I am thankful for the gift of my family. I have health issues and live 5 hours away from my parents who are 87 & 85. Both have survived Cancer not once but twice. My daughter is 9 hours from me and this year she has blessed us all with being able to spend Christmas together. She got us a cabin in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It many only be for a couple days but hoping that we can make memories for a lifetime. Merry Christmas Nicole and thank you for your generosity through out the year.

I'm thankful to still be alive and fairly healthy at 74 years of age when so many others younger than I am have already gone Home. I've never married and thus, have no children or grandchildren and the only one of my family other than myself left is my brother. But I have my pets, who are my Family now and I'm relatively happy.

Things in my home have a tendency to break down and cost a lot of money to fix. When our heat went out a month or-so-ago, a neighbor offered to come over and look at it for FREE. And what was wrong with our heat? It was just an unplugged cable not letting it 'turn over'.

So very thankful to the unknown person who one day decided to sign up to be a bone marrow donner, never knowing if or when their stem cells would be needed. Thanks to this special person I will receive their stem cells in a few months and also gain the gift of life and hopefully many more Christmasses with my family. Feeling blessed.

I am thankful for my beautiful new studio that I worked so hard for to set up being finished. Also for living on a beautiful small ranch way out in the middle of no where which is great for my sanity. I get to have a garden, chickens, and other animals. Now all I have to figure out is where to sell my work.
